Anson Jablinski has hosted 36 episodes.
Anson was born and raised right here in Houston, TX. In junior high school, he was in choir just long enough to meet Kurt and make a new lifelong friend. Anson then joined orchestra and picked up the double bass. Music carried him to Baylor University in Waco, TX, where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Theory and met his future wife, a violinist named Elvia. From there, Anson returned home to Houston and changed course a bit, earning a second Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Houston. Anson is now a full-time iOS software developer, though he still takes time on occasion to pick up a bass and perform.
Anson edits the show and manages most of the other technical aspects of Blank Tape. His other hobbies and interests include CrossFit, film scores, lattes, reading, and gaming.
Kurt Crenwelge has hosted 43 episodes.
Kurt grew up in an Air Force family. He was born in Panama, and he lived in Arkansas, West Germany, and Illinois before he moved to Houston in 1995 with his parents and little sister.
He knew how to operate a VCR by the age of 2, and his parents helped instill a love of God, music, film, comedy, and nerdiness into his life.
Anson and Kurt first met in beginner's choir at Mayde Creek Junior High and have been inseperable ever since.
After graduating from Mayde Creek High in 2006, he spent the next 8 years getting a Bachelor of Arts in Music and an MBA from Angelo State University (Go Rams!). There, he met the love of his life, Casey, and they got married and live in Dallas with their two cats, Xiao and Moe.
He loves the Marvel comic world (and movies), film, music, books, Dungeons & Dragons, board and video games, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, pop culture, the Catholic Church, and plenty of eclectic and niche things.
